Who: Hard Times Skate Shop has teamed up Portsmouth Parks and Recreation to create Drop In. Drop In is a skateboarding lending program and introduction to skateboard class.
What: A skateboard lending program will allow access to skateboarding and safety equipment that is not readily available to everyone in our community. We will also offer introductory lessons to help familiarize participants with the fundamentals of skateboarding, skateboard- ing safety, park etiquette and most importantly, having fun.
Why: Hard Times Drop In Program will allow Portsmouth’s Park and Recreation the opportunity to introduce skateboarding and it’s diverse community to the City of Portsmouth. Maybe you need something more challenging or just tired of team sports!! You might be thinking it’s expensive for skateboard, lessons and safety equipment. And what if you don’t stick with it. Or maybe you’re just looking try new hobbies or searching for alternatives to your healthy lifestyle. Drop In will make skateboarding accessible to every child (6-18) in Portsmouth and is also a great way to try skateboarding before making a purchase.
When: Before Holiday Break to allow access to skateboarding and equipment during that time frame.
